Dashboard
The Dashboard tab — choosing a period, net worth, profit and loss, spending breakdowns, member detail, cashflow trend and your commitments.

The 📊 Dashboard tab is the overview of your money for a period you choose. It updates by itself as you add transactions and transfers — there is nothing to type here except your choices in the dropdowns.
Amounts on the Dashboard and in every tab are shown as plain numbers, without a currency symbol. Your workbook uses the currency you chose during setup.
The 📅 Date Range Selection section sets the period for everything below it.
Choose the period in the Period dropdown:
This month— from the 1st of this month to today.Last 3 months— from the same day three months ago to today.Last 6 months— from the same day six months ago to today.This year— from 1 January to today. This is the default.Custom— the dates you type in Custom: From → To.
From → To shows the dates being used. Prior period: From → To is the period of the same length just before it, which the Dashboard uses for comparisons.
The 💰 Net Worth section shows where you stand today:
- Net Worth — the total of all your account balances from the Accounts tab.
- Assets — the total of the accounts with a positive balance.
- Debt — what is still owed on your loans, from the Loans tab.
- Net Worth Δ vs prior — how much your net worth changed compared with the start of the period, based on the monthly snapshots in Net Worth History.
The 📊 Period Profit & Loss section shows Income, Expense and Net (income minus expense) for This period and the Prior period, from your transactions. Transfers between your own accounts aren't counted.
The 💸 Expense & Income Breakdown section has four charts for the period: Expense by Category, Expense by Member, Income by Category and Income by Member.
The 🔍 Spending Detail section lets you dig into your spending:
- Spending by Category — a table of your spending per category (Category, Spent, Prior, Change) with a pie chart. It shows the top 10 categories; the full list is in the sidebar's Analytics.
- 🔍 Sub-category Drill — choose a category in Pick a category: to see its Sub-category Breakdown, then a sub-category in Pick a sub-category: to see Sub-category by Month.
In the 👤 Member Detail section, choose a household member in Pick a member: to see Member Spend by Category, Member Spend by Month, and Member vs Household Average.
The 📈 Cashflow Trend section shows, month by month, Income vs Expense vs Net, Expense by Month and Income by Month.
The 🎯 Commitments section is a short summary of what you've committed to:
- 🐷 Budgets — active budgets, the most used first.
- 💵 Loans — open loans, the largest first.
- 🤑 Goals — goals in progress, the closest first.
Each block shows the top items; the full lists are on the Budgeting, Loans and Savings & Goals tabs.
