Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data MonetrixOS collects when you visit this website, buy a licence, and use MonetrixOS for Google Sheets (the "add-on"), why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We have tried to write it in plain language. If anything is unclear, write to privacy@monetrixos.com.
The short version
- Your financial data stays in your own Google spreadsheet. The add-on does not send your transactions, balances, budgets or any other workbook content to us.
- To check your licence, the add-on sends your licence key, your workbook's ID and an activation token to our licence server. When you first activate, it also sends your Google account email, which it reads with the "See your primary Google Account email address" permission.
- Whop takes your payment. It is the merchant of record for your purchase. We receive your email address and your licence key from Whop — not your card details.
- This website uses PostHog analytics, with cookies and session replay, only if you accept analytics in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" in the footer.
- If you subscribe to our newsletter, we keep your name and email address to send it to you. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
Who we are
The controller of your personal data is MonetrixOS.
For anything related to privacy, including requests to exercise your rights, email privacy@monetrixos.com. For product help, email support@monetrixos.com.
Your financial data stays in your spreadsheet
MonetrixOS for Google Sheets is a Google Sheets add-on. Everything you enter — accounts, transactions, budgets, goals, loans, recurring items, settings — is stored inside your own Google spreadsheet, in your Google account. We do not operate a copy of your workbook and we cannot see its content.
The add-on keeps a small activation record in the spreadsheet itself (in the workbook's document properties): your licence key, an activation token, and the dates it was activated and last verified. Anyone you share the workbook with as an editor can use this activation. The add-on also writes a technical log to a "Logs" tab in your spreadsheet; your licence key is not written to it.
Google stores your spreadsheet under your agreement with Google. Google's own privacy policy applies to that.
Google permissions the add-on asks for
When you first open the add-on, Google asks you to grant it permissions (once per person). The add-on requests only these five, and here is what each one means:
| Permission shown by Google | What it lets the add-on do | What it does not do |
|---|---|---|
View and manage spreadsheets that this application has been installed in (spreadsheets.currentonly) |
Read and write the one spreadsheet you are using the add-on in, to build and update your workbook. | It cannot open your other spreadsheets or files. The add-on has no access to your Google Drive. |
Connect to an external service (script.external_request) |
Contact our licence server to activate and verify your licence. | It is used for nothing else: no other website or service is contacted, and no workbook content is sent. |
Display and run third-party web content in prompts and sidebars inside Google applications (script.container.ui) |
Show the MonetrixOS menu, sidebar and dialogs inside Google Sheets. | The sidebar is built into the add-on and does not load content from other websites. |
Allow this application to run when you are not present (script.scriptapp) |
Run scheduled automation in your spreadsheet: post due recurring items daily, roll budgets over and save a net-worth snapshot on the 1st of each month, update the workbook's structure automatically (on by default, can be turned off in Settings) and, if you turn it on, open the sidebar when the file opens. | These tasks run inside your spreadsheet and do not send your data anywhere. |
See your primary Google Account email address (userinfo.email) |
Read the email address of the Google account using the add-on and send it to our licence server when you first activate, to tie the activation to the purchaser, detect shared or resold licence keys (by comparing it with the buyer's email) and help with licence support. | It is never sold, shared with third parties for their own purposes, or used for marketing. It gives no access to your Gmail or your other Google data. |
The add-on does not use Gmail, Google Drive, your contacts or your calendar, and it contains no advertising or tracking code.
MonetrixOS's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
If the add-on's script hits an unexpected error, Google Apps Script records a technical error report in Google Cloud logging, which we can see. These reports never include the values in your spreadsheet: your data stays in your spreadsheet, and we never have access to it.
Licence data
To make sure a licence is used as agreed, our licence server stores:
- Your buyer record: the email address you bought with, as received from Whop.
- Your licence: the licence key, which store it was bought from, how many workbooks it can activate, and its status (active, refunded, disputed or revoked).
- Activations: for each workbook activated with your licence, the workbook's ID (a random identifier Google gives every spreadsheet — not its name or content), the date of activation, and the Google account email of the person who activated it. We compare this email with the buyer email to help detect shared or resold keys, and use it for licence support.
- An activity log: every activation and verification attempt, with the licence key, the email sent (if any), the workbook ID, which check was made, the result, and the IP address and browser user-agent of the request.
The add-on contacts the licence server when you activate, and then about once every 30 days to re-check the licence. It sends only your licence key, your workbook ID, the activation token and — on activation only — your Google account email. It never sends your transactions, balances, budgets or any other workbook content.
Why we use this data: to deliver and activate the licence you bought (performance of our contract with you), and to prevent abuse and fraud, keep the service secure and handle refunds and disputes (our legitimate interests).
The licence server is part of MonetrixOS's own platform. We operate it ourselves.
Payments through Whop
Purchases are processed by Whop, which acts as the merchant of record. Whop collects your payment details, billing information and any taxes, issues your receipt, and handles the payment itself. Whop's own privacy policy applies to the data you give Whop.
From Whop we receive only what we need to issue and manage your licence: your email address, your licence key, the quantity purchased, and updates when a purchase is refunded, disputed or cancelled. We never receive your card details.
When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to answer you and to keep a record of the conversation. Our mailboxes are run by our email provider.
You can also write to us with the contact form on this website.
- What we store: your full name, your email address, the topic you chose, your message, the language of the page, and the date you sent it.
- How it works: the form is sent to our own website, which passes it to the MonetrixOS platform. The platform stores your message so our team can read and answer it, and notifies our support or privacy mailbox. We reply to you by email. Your IP address is used briefly to limit repeated messages (spam protection); it is not stored with your message.
- Confirmation email: after you send a message, we email the address you entered a short confirmation in the language of the page, at most once a day per address. It contains only your name — never your message — and asks you to ignore it if you didn’t use our form. Apart from that, you hear from us when we reply.
- Analytics: if you accepted analytics, we record that a message was sent and its topic — never your name, email address or message.
Why we use this data: to answer your request. We keep it as long as needed to help you (see "How long we keep data").
Newsletter
You can subscribe to the MonetrixOS newsletter on this website (on the home page, and on the app page to hear when the app launches). It brings MonetrixOS news and practical money ideas.
- What we store: your full name, your email address, the language of the page you subscribed from, which page it was, when you subscribed, which version of the consent wording you saw, and — if you unsubscribe — when you did.
- How it works: the form is sent to our own website, which passes it to the MonetrixOS platform. Your IP address is used briefly to limit repeated sign-ups (spam protection). It is held in memory only for that check and is not stored with your subscription.
- Emails: we send a welcome email straight away, then the newsletter. Every email includes a link to unsubscribe in one click.
- Analytics: if you accepted analytics, we record that a sign-up happened and from which page — never your name or email address.
Why we use this data: your consent, given when you subscribe. You can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing, or by writing to privacy@monetrixos.com.
Website analytics
We use PostHog to understand how people use this website — for example which pages are visited, how far people get through the story, and which buttons are clicked — so we can improve it.
- PostHog runs only after you accept analytics in the cookie banner. If you reject, or make no choice, PostHog is not loaded and no analytics cookies are set.
- With your consent, PostHog sets cookies and records session replays — a reconstruction of how you moved through the pages. Everything you type into forms is masked and never recorded.
- PostHog processes this data in the United States (PostHog's US region). See "International transfers" below.
- You can withdraw consent at any time with "Cookie settings" in the footer. We then stop analytics and remove its cookies.
- If your browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal, PostHog records nothing, even if you accept.
- Analytics are never enabled on our staging (test) website.
Why we use this data: your consent. You can withdraw it at any time; this does not affect processing that happened before.
The add-on itself contains no analytics.

Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run MonetrixOS, and only as far as they need it:
- Whop — payments, invoices and taxes (merchant of record).
- PostHog — website analytics, only with your consent.
- Our hosting and email providers — to run this website and the MonetrixOS platform (licences, newsletter, contact messages) and to send and receive our emails.
- Google — the add-on runs on Google Apps Script inside your Google account.
We may also disclose data if the law requires it.
International transfers
Some of our providers process data outside your country, including in the United States (for example PostHog's US region, and Whop). Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, or Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep data
- Licence data (buyer record, licence, activations): for as long as your licence exists, and afterwards as long as needed to handle disputes and meet legal obligations.
- Activity log (including IP address and user-agent): for as long as your licence exists, to protect it against misuse.
- Emails we send you (licence delivery, newsletter): our record of each email (address, which email it was, when it was sent) is deleted automatically after 12 months.
- Support emails: as long as needed to help you.
- Contact form messages: as long as needed to help you, and deleted automatically 24 months after they arrive at the latest.
- Newsletter: while you are subscribed. After you unsubscribe, we keep only your email address and the date you unsubscribed, so we can respect your choice.
- Analytics data: according to our PostHog project's retention settings.
- Backups: our platform keeps a small number of recent backups, replaced on a rolling basis, so deleted data disappears from them within days.
- Your workbook: stays in your Google account for as long as you keep it. We never hold a copy.
Your rights
Depending on where you live — in particular in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland — you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- correct data that is wrong;
- delete your data;
- restrict or object to how we use it, including uses based on our legitimate interests;
- data portability — receive your data in a common machine-readable format;
- withdraw consent at any time (for analytics: "Cookie settings" in the footer);
- complain to your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@monetrixos.com from the address you bought with, or tell us your licence key so we can find your records. We may ask you to confirm your identity. We will answer within one month. Deleting your licence data means the licence can no longer be verified.
Your workbook is yours: you can view, export or delete it in Google Sheets at any time.
Children
MonetrixOS is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our product or the law changes. The date and version at the top of this page always show the current version. If a change is significant, we will highlight it on this website.
