Automation schedule
What MonetrixOS does in the background — daily recurring items, the monthly budget rollover and net-worth snapshot, auto-open, automatic updates and instant recalculation.
On this page
Some work happens without you opening the sidebar. MonetrixOS sets it up when your workbook is built, using the "run when you are not present" permission you gave Google. Everything runs inside your spreadsheet; nothing is sent anywhere.
| When | What happens | Learn more |
|---|---|---|
| Every day, around 3 a.m. | Due recurring rules add their transactions, and balances are recalculated. | Recurrings |
| The 1st of each month, around 4 a.m. | Budget rollover: each active budget is saved to Budget History and starts again from its full amount. | Budgeting |
| The 1st of each month, around 5 a.m. | Net-worth snapshot: a new row in Net Worth History. | Net Worth History |
| When the workbook opens | Pending workbook updates are applied, if Update automatically is on (the default). | Workbook updates |
| When the workbook opens | The sidebar opens, if you turned on auto-open in Settings. | Settings |
| Whenever you edit a row | Automatic columns are filled in, and balances, budgets, goals and loans are recalculated. | Transactions |
You can also run the scheduled tasks by hand from the sidebar:
- Recurring › Process now — adds every recurring transaction that is due.
- Budgets › Rollover — runs the budget rollover. Only use it if the monthly run was missed; running it twice in a month adds duplicate rows to Budget History.
- Recalculate on most screens — refreshes the calculated columns.
Resetting the template sets the automation up again, so your schedule keeps running.
- Recurring transactions show
Yesin Recurring (auto), and each rule's Last run at shows the last day it ran. - Budget History and Net Worth History get new rows each month.
The add-on also keeps a technical log in a hidden tab, which helps support if something doesn't run.
